Reiki means universal energy….Rei = “Universal”, ki = “Vital Life Force Energy” “Rei” describes its boundless aspects and “ki” is the energy life force that flows through all living beings.
Reiki is a healing method that uses universal guided life force energy. It is a safe and gentle form of natural healing dating back thousands of years to India and Tibet then rediscovered in the early 1900s by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki helps to create balance, harmony and healing.
For individuals Reiki energy therapy will bring about harmony with self, with the whole universe and with God. Reiki not only promotes your physical wellbeing but also has a positive effect on your emotional and spiritual equilibrium. This is why, after a treatment, many people feel refreshed, relaxed, cleared and more content. It is suitable for all living beings of all ages (including babies and children)…animals, plants, crystals, Mother Earth and even the Universe. Reiki energy can be placed in towels, food, water, clothing…and can then be used for healing purposes. Reiki can be used to replenish your vital energy, to strengthen your immune system and to help with healing of dis-ease including serious ailments….sports injuries, cuts, burns, internal dis-eases, emotional disorders and stress related conditions.

Reiki is a therapy that the practitioner, as a catalyst or channel of energy, delivers through the hands, with the intent to raise the amount of Chi in and around the client, heal energetic pathways and reduce negative energies. Reiki can be practiced in several ways…on its own, along with other alternative therapies and along with conventional medical treatments.
For a Reiki session we recommend to come dressed comfortably and you will be lying down. The practitioner places his/her hands on or slightly above your body using different hand positions. Each hand position is held until the practitioner feels that the flow of energy has slowed or stopped.
The energy flows wherever it is required (spiritually guided) and can normally be felt as a warm sensation or tingling in the body. Usually when receiving Reiki you will feel very relaxed and you may have a “floating” feeling. You may feel heat, a tingling or cold under the practitioner’s hands. These and other feelings come from what the Reiki energy is actually doing in and around your body…adding energy, balancing, removing excess energy and blockages.
It is also possible that you experience different emotions, thoughts or visions from which you will learn something and even release them if necessary. Some people receive insights on how to solve problems. All deep healing starts with a process of releasing, which means your condition could potentially worsen and is called a healing crisis…overcoming it could be in the form of emotions or even toxins that need to leave your body…healing still comes about even though you might initially feel worse before feeling better again. Drinking lots of water helps your body release toxins as well as acts as a conduit allowing the Reiki energy to continue its work well after receiving the treatment.
